Miss Vietnam 1996 Nguyen Thien Nga

Nguyen Thien Nga was crowned Miss Vietnam in 1996 when she was 20 year old. At the time of the contest she was a second year student at the Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City. She also won the best answer award in the competition. Nguyen Thien Nga is the first contestant in the history of the competition to win two "Miss Vietnam" titles, the first in 1996 as the official contestant and the second title in 1999. In that year she was the special contestant for choosing a delegate representative for Vietnam in the "Miss Friendship of the World 1999" competition. After graduating from university in 2000, Nguyễn Thiên Nga decided to study economics. She has recently settled down in San José, California, USA.

Bui Bich Phuong: beauty is not always an advantage!

Bui Bich Phuong, the first Miss Tien Phong (later called Miss Vietnam) was born in Hanoi in 1971. When crowned Miss Tien Phong in 1988, she was a student of English. Several years later, she won a scholarship of South Korean Government and studied at Seoul National University. Bui Bich Phuong is fluent in Vietnamese, English and Korean. She always does best in work and be really happy with her small family. To her,beauty is not always an advantage so everyone has to work!

Miss Vietnam 1994 Nguyen Thu Thuy

Nguyen Thu Thuy was crowned Miss Vietnam in 1994. However, she chose to study to become a businesswoman instead of being a model or actress like most other Vietnamese beauties. She got married to a businessman but divorced and now lives with her son. It's been said that she is a strict manager at her company.

Miss Vietnam 2008 scandal

Miss Vietnam 2008 Tran Thi Thuy Dung was accused of using a false school report when taking part in the Miss Vietnam 2008. This accusation led to a investigation by Datviet newspaper. In fact, Thuy Dung hasn't finished high-school, which violated the law of the Contest. The media then pressed the organizing committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to make an official investigation about the case. The official investigation result announced today by Danang Education and Traing Department show that the accusation is accurate.

Miss Vietnam 2006 Mai Phuong Thuy. Thuy is 19 years old.
Thuy was born and brought up in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, a peaceful, friendly country with hidden charm. Thuy is receiving a full scholarship from Rirut University, and is studying to be a successful business woman. She enjoys jogging, swimming, reading, listening to music especially hip hop and dance. Favourite food is ‘Pho’ and spring roll. Personal motto is “Let smiling solve every problem in life”.
